Joleen Buffington is a certified women’s health nurse practitioner who is passionate about caring for women and trans individuals. After 16 years of OB/GYN nursing she returned to school, graduating from Frontier Nursing University with a Master of Science in nursing. As a long-time resident of a rural community and a young breast cancer survivor, she has first-hand experience with the difficulties of seeking care in remote areas with limited resources and few providers, particularly female providers. She prioritizes getting to know her patients as whole people, addressing not only their immediate concerns but their overall health. Buffington is an active member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health and The Menopause Society, and is studying to become a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves walking, hiking, water sports, and live music.
