Physician assistant Vincent Duong joined MCHC in 2025. He sees patients of all ages and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Japanese.
In addition to family medicine, Vincent has special interest in pediatrics and with substance use disorder treatment.
Born and raised in San Diego, Vincent was brought up by parents who were Vietnamese immigrants. Their perseverance through hardships and the value they placed on service to others influenced his desire to provide care in underserved communities.
Living in the same community as his patients is something Vincent values. “Traditionally, a family medicine provider was someone living in a community, usually someone from that community,” he says. There are significant benefits that come from taking the time to build relationships with patients and from understanding the nuances of the communities in which they live.
MCHC immediately felt like the right fit for Vincent, who appreciates the focus on the mission of serving patients, particularly in a high-need, multilingual community. He also appreciates the value MCHC places on mentorship and creating a strong learning environment for providers and their continuing medical education.
Outside of work, he is a hobbyist who is always trying something new. He enjoys fly-fishing, backpacking, watching anime, and working to improve his soccer skills.
