Dr. Maganito is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who brought a wealth of experience when he joined MCHC in 2025. His career has spanned clinical care, medical administration, and education. His interests and areas of expertise include laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, infertility, and urogynecology—and delivering babies, one of his favorite parts of the job.
Dr. Maganito says being an OB/GYN provides unique opportunities to build relationships with patients over time, thanks to the repeat visits that occur for expecting parents.
He began his career as an OB/GYN in a rural part of Washington State where he says, “Everyone needed help, and we did what we could. Serving the underserved gave me purpose.” He appreciates MCHC’s model of care where each patient’s healthcare needs are met, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.
Given his background, Dr. Maganito wasn’t sure he would be able to pursue medicine. He grew up in the Philippines surrounded by many family members who were nurses, but when his family immigrated to the United States when he was a child, they had very few financial resources. However, thanks to his hard work and excellent academic performance, he was selected as a National Health Service Corps scholar, paving the way for his medical career.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughters, who are competitive swimmers.
