Bio:
Since her childhood, Suzi Saunders has been curious about the inner workings of the human body, inspired, in part, by growing up on a vineyard and watching vines grow. As a young adult, she was on track to attend medical school when a preceptorship with a midwife changed her course to midwifery. As a certified nurse midwife, Suzi values being able to care for women and she loves delivering babies (during the last 20+ years, she has delivered nearly 4,000 of them!). Suzi enjoys listening to her patients’ needs and then partnering with them to create a healthcare plan that works for them. She also finds value in caring for teenaged patients and offering contraceptive counseling. Sometimes, Suzi’s personal and professional lives collide in wonderful ways: she was able to “catch” each of her adult step-daughter’s babies when they were born, which she considers a great honor. Outside of work, Suzi is an ultra trail runner and enjoys spending time with family.
