Mendocino Community Health Centers (MCHC) is proud to announce its official partnership with the Blue Zones Project – Mendocino County, a community-wide initiative dedicated to helping people live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.

As a long-standing provider of comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare in Mendocino County and Lake County, MCHC is committed to supporting the well-being of both its patients and its dedicated staff. Through this partnership, MCHC is actively incorporating evidence-based Blue Zones principles, such as encouraging movement throughout the day and strong social connections into daily operations and patient engagement strategies.
“MCHC has always been a cornerstone of wellness in our community,” said Michelle Hutchins, Organization and Wellbeing Lead with Blue Zones Project – Mendocino County. “Their commitment to holistic health aligns perfectly with the Blue Zones mission. This partnership not only supports a healthier workplace, but it also expands the reach of well-being tools and resources to the thousands of patients MCHC serves each year.”
Joaquin Blanco, MCHC’s Director of People and Culture, added, “Our collaboration with Blue Zones Project reflects our deep belief that true health goes beyond the exam room. By embracing practices that support purpose, connection, and balance, we are fostering a culture of wellness that starts with our staff and radiates into the communities we serve.”
By becoming a Blue Zones Project Approved™ Worksite, MCHC joins a growing network of local organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in Mendocino County. The partnership supports long-term goals of reducing chronic disease, increasing community engagement, and creating environments that make healthy choices easier.
