Bio:
Alexandra "Ali" Kanat, has excellent training in Intrapartum and Postpartum Management via the inpatient departments at Kaiser Santa Rosa, Oregon Health and Science University, Legacy Emanuel, and Kaiser Sunnyside/Westside Portland.  This includes: triage, intrapartum, and postpartum care for low to moderate risk patients, water birth and VBAC, managing normal and prolonged labors, complicated by gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, premature rupture of membranes, intra-amniotic infection, and fetal malposition. Ali has supported patients via the Project Nurture program, which focuses on patients with substance use disorders.  She has co-managed conditions such as insulincontrolled diabetes or preeclampsia Antepartum and Postpartum Management.   Ali has conducted: Routine gynecologic visits and problem visits for adolescents to post-menopausal patients, performed IUD placements and removals, STI screening, assessments for vaginitis, and menopause management.  Ali has completed official Nexplanon, Mirena, and Paragard training.  She provides evidence-based and compassionate education throughout pregnancy and encourages shared-decision making. Ali is excited to be a part of the Ukiah community and work with the interprofessional team at Care For Her. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time on her bike, hiking, reading poetry, traveling, and cooking.
